Comprehensive
Cardiac Recovery Unit
The Comprehensive Cardiac Recovery Unit (CCRU) is where patients
go after testing in the cardiac catherization lab. Patients
undergoing the following procedures will be cared for in the
CCRU:
- Irregular heart rhythms
- Cardioversions
- Chest pain ruling out Myocardial
Infarctions (MI, heart attacks)
- Intravascular Radiation Therapy
(Brachytherapy, IVRT)
- Cardiac catheterizations
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary
Angioplasty (PTCA)
- Stents
- Permanent and temporary pacemakers
- Automatic Internal Cardiac
Defibrillators (AICD)
- Peripheral angioplasty and stents
- Electrophysiology Studies (EPS) and
ablations
- Patients waiting to have open heart surgery
The CCRU is staffed by experienced Registered Nurses and
Unit Coordinators who are happy to answer your questions.
Visiting hours are from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Visitors are
limited to 2 people at a time. Please, no infants or children
younger than age 12. A waiting room outside the department
is available for additional family members and visitors.
The CCRU is located on the second floor near the stress testing
labs. If you need assistance locating the CCRU, stop by the
Cardiopulmonary waiting area and ask for directions.
There are 10 patient stations in this department. Each station
is equipped with a television and is capable of having telephone
calls transferred in by calling 517-364-3609.
