94.1 FM WVIC, 92.1 WQTX and the Sparrow Regional Children’s Center are teaming up for this year's Children's Miracle Network Radiothon sponsored by:
- Shaheen Chevrolet
- Foresters International
- Mid-Michigan Radio Group
Similar to a telethon, local families share their stories of health and healing with the community, while
volunteers man the phones and take pledges of support. The Radiothon is broadcast intermittently with
WVIC and WQTX's regular programming with hosts Bob & Sheri, Delilah, Kevin Conrad, and other radio personalities.
We raised nearly $60,000 for the Sparrow Pediatric Program Fund during last year's Radiothon. The 2005 Radiothon
raised over $66,000 and in 2004 over $34,000. These funds are used by Sparrow’s Pediatric Program Fund,
supporting renovations of the patient rooms at the Sparrow Regional Children’s Center. Renovated rooms
feature sleeper sofas so parents can spend the night with their children and new, kid-friendly décor.
The Pediatric Program Fund also supports pediatric sub-specialty physicians at Sparrow.
Having these doctors right at Sparrow means that kids with cancer, diabetes or severe injuries can stay close to
home for treatment instead of having to travel outside the community or even outside the state.
