MSU Department of Family Medicine
The breadth of our specialty is evident in the diverse areas of interest and expertise of the members of the Department of Family Medicine at Michigan State University. These interests include: medical ethics, sports medicine, alternative birthing, geriatrics, computer applications, management of difficult patients, adolescent medicine, international health and others.
In addition to the Residency Program Faculty, members of the Department of Family Medicine spend varying amounts of time with the Residency Program. Almost all attend in-patient rounds and precept in the Family Health Centers. This provides a unique opportunity for Residents to pursue areas of special interest with Faculty members who have a particular expertise. It is also possible for some residents to extend training for a fourth year given the fellowship positions in geriatrics and sports medicine.
