Pediatric Gastroenterology provides diagnosis and treatment for infants, children and adolescents with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver and pancreas. Some of the diagnoses that are treated at the clinic are:

• Acute and chronic hepatitis
• Chronic abdominal pain
• Chronic diarrhea
• Constipation and encopresis
• Failure to thrive
• Gastrointestinal bleeding
• Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD)
• Inflammatory Bowel Disease
• Crohn's Disease
• Ulcerative colitis
• Malabsorption Syndrome/Celiac Disease

Diagnostic Testing available:

• pH probe
• Upper endoscopy
• Colonoscopy
• Lactose Hydrogen Breath Testing (lactose intolerance)

Endoscopy procedures are performed by Dr. Malas in the Endoscopy Unit at Sparrow Hospital.
